Dr. Christopher Reid
PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR
A Canadian transplant to Rhode Island, father of two and a fan of hockey (Go Habs!) and soccer. When not teaching or in the lab I enjoy running, kayaking, motorcycles, photography, beer, and whisky.
Research Interests: Structure and function of carbohydrates and carbohydrate acting enzymes. How can we leverage these molecules for industrial and biomedical applications?
My interests lie at the interface of chemistry and microbiology, and in particular carbohydrate chemistry and glycoscience. I’m a chemist, biochemist, and analytical chemist depending on the research challenge. I employ this broad training to study biosynthetic pathways and in the development of new antibiotics. Chemistry has opened a wealth of opportunities and experiences for this boy from Northern Ontario.
